Our Cruise

Well we kept so busy on the cruise, we have lots of catching up to do. It was such an awesome trip, we had so much fun but missed our kids a bunch! The first three days were at sea and then we made our first stop in Jamaica. We went to the Dunn's River Falls and climbed the waterfalls. We did some shopping that we didn't really want to do after that...Very pushy people, but we learned quickly how to say NO in the future.

The next day we stopped in George Town, Grand Cayman where we decided to walk to the 7 mile beach. Well after a long 3 mile walk we finally made it there (of course there's a story behind that one). We swam and hung out on the beach until we felt fried. We then found a taxi to take us back to do some more shopping before heading back to the boat.

Our third port was Cozumel, Mexico. We went power snorkeling and had a blast! I was a little nervous at first but had so much fun once I got used to it. I was a little sick from swallowing so much salt water:) I obviously wasn't a pro at it, but learned quickly all the little tricks, like keeping that tube thing out of the water. Greg was right at home being in the water. He dove down and swam on the bottom taking pictures and having all kinds of fun with the machine.
After snorkeling we went shopping some more and headed back to the boat. After eating out in Jamaica we decided to just eat on the boat the rest of the stops. It was just safer that way and tastes a lot better too.

We were never bored on the trip and had a blast with our friends Matt & Marisa celebrating our 10 year anniversary together.

Day 1: The Alamo

We got down to New Braunfels, where our friends Matt and Marisa live, around 8:30 am. After a little rest and visiting, we headed down to San Antonio to spend a few hours at the Alamo and on the Riverwalk. We took a boat ride and did some wandering around. We had a great time and are so excited to get on the ship for our cruise Sunday afternoon. We'll try and keep this updated as we travel. We love and miss you Brendon, Caleb, Trevin and Meryn.

My Ring!

I finally got to pick up my ring last night. We had a hard time getting a good picture of it. I am so excited to finally be wearing a ring again, I love it! We will be going on our cruise soon so I am sure we will be updating with lots of pictures as soon as we get back...

Idle Minds

This is what happens when you've been couped up in the house for 3 months! I took the video off because it was too big for the screen setup. If you want to watch it, click this link Hanging Around

Breakfast Time

Meryn won't speak a word to grandma and grandpa Tucker or hardly go into their room and look at them, but this morning she was determined to go have breakfast with them. She helped grandma Neir make some sausage and pancakes, get plates ready for g&g Tucker and then helped deliver the food to their table. After some discussion about the size of her pancakes, she decided she wanted to eat with bamma & bampa Tucko. She hustled to their table, plopped herself down and ate her breakfast without a single word said to g&g. She just wanted to be there. She's a nut. We're pretty sure it's a control thing and hopefully soon will open up to them. It's neat to see them perk up and say "Hi Snookie" when they see her. We're blessed to have them down here.

MY Happy Valentines day!

Ten years ago today, I was surprised with a diamond and marriage proposal. I had never been happier! There were a few lost diamonds in the last several years that caused me to stop wearing my ring, which I have greatly missed...UNTIL tonight! I received the most beautiful new wedding set. Greg totally pulled one over on me. It takes a lot to surprise me but he did it tonight. We had agreed(or so I thought) that since we were going on a cruise next month for our 10th anniversary that this would be our gift to each other! Well after dinner and shopping we got in the car and I was being very impatient (imagine that:)) about getting going because I was sooo cold and I wanted to hurry up and get home. He said he needed to get the car warmed up first and then after some sweet words gave me a new wedding ring!! We then went back into the mall to get it resized and soldered. So I only got to wear it for a few minutes but long enough to love it. I will post a picture when I get it back.

Thanks for making this such a special day for me Greg!

Icicle

Brendon found an icicle hanging from the front porch when he got home from school today. It was about a foot or foot and a half longer, but a piece broke off. He was pretty impressed at how big it was.

Beauty

Meryn is all dressed up with nowhere to go. She played dress up at Johnny and Elisa's house with cousin Avery's princess dress. She's all girl!

K'nex

Brendon Caleb and Trevin have been staying at G & G Neirs house while I've been at work and Susan has been in KC. They've had a great time and have really been using their imagination. I came over this morning after I got off duty, and they all jumped up and ran to gather their creations. I was pretty impressed to see how they made each design. Brendon helped Trevin make a shark, merry-go-round, teeter totter, slide, tire swing, monkey bars, chair swing, helicopter, and two race cars. They all were really cool and they were so excited to show them to me. Caleb had also made some creations, he made a grandfather clock, a Cessna airplane, space craft and a fully steerable jeep. They all did a great job and it seemed to keep them out of trouble!

SUPER BOWL

The kids were so excited to have a super bowl party at home with the family. As soon as we got home this afternoon they disappeared to make "things" for the party. Trevin and Meryn were so excited to help get all the food out. We turned on the TV about 20 minutes before the game started and they dove into the snacks and got comfy to watch the game...Twenty minutes later as the game started with their tummies all full they were off to play computer games.

Fatboy

As long as we can remember, we've called Trevin "Fatboy" for his nickname. Well, I was at the store yesterday picking up food for dinner at the fire station, we walked through the ice cream aisle and something caught my attention. A big box of "Fatboy" ice cream bars. I couldn't pass them up, so I bought a box and took them over to him. He was pretty excited and liked that they were named after him. He is too cute.

Spelling Bee

Brendon was able to qualify, with another girl from his class, for the county spelling bee. He was so excited and nervous because he had to go up against 6th graders. So he brought home a 6 page list of words to study. After reading the words, he was even more anxious. Well, he made it to the second round and was knocked out. He said he misspelled his word because he was just too nervous and couldn't think. He was OK with not making it further and is looking forward to next year.

Little Helper

Meryn has wanted to help make lunches for the boys lately, so I put her up on the counter to put the things in each lunch box. She asked for a pen and paper and when I gave it to her, she pretended like she was checking things off her list for the lunches. She's obviously watched mommy pretty closely.
