Christmas 2006
Brendon, Caleb and Trevin were all very excited to get electric scooters for Christmas. Meryn got her wish with a new pink bike.
Caleb has been wanting a robe for quite a while and was very excited to get one. He wears it all the time.
Wow, What an adventure Christmas 2006 was. 39 screaming people, elbow to elbow, standing room only, enjoying the fun and excitement of Christmas. We were blessed to have everyone here from KC, Iowa and even Grandpa & Grandma from Salina. It was all so exhausting, but we will always cherish the memories.

Meryn's First Real Haircut
I took Meryn to Erika, my hairdresser, today to fix the hair job disaster. She was a good girl and did a great job holding still. It was hard to do to much with her bangs because she cut one side so much shorter than the other. It all turned out just fine.

Meryn's First Haircut
Well we learned a hard lesson today, that fortunately we have not had to learn yet in our 9 years of parenting. Greg and I fell asleep while the kids were watching a movie. When I woke up and couldn't find Meryn I assumed trouble, just not this:) I know She could have done a lot worse so I handled it well and got the camera. Greg really did not want her hair cut so is not very happy. Meryn and her Daddy are having a discussion right now about how she won't do this again!

Sporting Clays
Roger, John, Johnny, Phil and I went out to a Sporting Clays range the day after Thanksgiving. I did some of this last Christmas with my Dad, brother and brother-in-law, but not the whole course. Roger was a little apprehensive in going because he hadn't shot in 15 years. So he didn't want us to "show him up". Well it became blatantly obvious that it was a huge ploy to get us all out there, with our chests puffed out and our egos high, and completely decimate us. He was relentless in his effort to show us just how terrible we were at shooting. I'm sure I saw him several times shooting from the hip and behind his back and even a diving roll behind a tree with his eyes closed using his right hand. It was very humiliating to say the least. It wouldn't have been so bad if he wouldn't have laughed and pointed in our face after every hit saying, "In your face, punk". And, "Who's your daddy!!". Well, after 50 rounds and a bruised shoulder, we were finally done. We tallied the scores,(no comment) then headed home. It really was a great time and was fun hanging out with the guys. I'm planning on doing it again at Christmas time, but I think somebodies invitation may get lost in the mail!
