We went to KC this weekend to celebrate my Dads 64th birthday. All of the adults went out to eat Friday night and Saturday we grilled at June and Damons. The kids all had so much fun playing together. They never get bored playing with all their cousins. The boys were all off trying to catch bugs so I didn't get any pictures of them.

Fun in the park

We all went to the park tonight in Kansas City. Greg and Phil decided to join in on the fun.

My Morning

Well I have a very quiet house this morning. Greg took Meryn with him to run errands and I am cleaning as fast as I can so that we can come home from Kansas City to a clean house. I think I need to slow down a little bit. I was getting ready to dust and I like to soak the rag with dusting spray, sooo I spayed and sprayed and then couldn't breath because I was coughing and gagging. Yes, it was lysol I had sprayed. I took the rag down to the laundry and got preoccupied cleaning the boys room downstairs. I also needed to stay away from the fumes upstairs. Well I eventually got back to the dusting and as I was spaying the second rag I thought it seemed weird turing the can upside down to spray. You would think I would have learned to look at the can but the lysol was clouding my thinking. I was just about done dusting my room when I noticed this sticky film on my dresser. So then I looked at the can....It was OUST air freshener. Well long story short I may need a house that's not so quiet.

Well we are getting back into the school year routine. The boys all love school and their teachers so we are happy with that. Brendon and Caleb have been getting to serve at lunch time to the kids so that makes them feel pretty important. Meryn is eating up the one on one time she gets with us. She has found a new way to brush her teeth without help. She is becoming very independent these days.
Soccer has started now so we are going to very busy for the next few months. Trevin started practice tonight and the twins start practice tomorrow. So our slow paced life is no longer...:(

School Time

School time is here! The boys were all so excited for it to start. Brendon and Caleb are in 3rd grade and Trevin is in first. We went last minute shopping for clothes last night and they had a blast trying them on and deciding which outfit to wear today. They also got hair cuts yesterday. We buzzed their hair off for the summer, so it was getting really shabby. Well they are starting to care about how we get it cut (at least the twins are). Brendon was very insistent on NOT going short on the top and Trevin didn't care and then came Caleb. He asked if He could have something totally different than his brothers. Sure gave Erika (our hairdresser) & I a good laugh, since their hair is all still pretty short. So she gave him a "faux hawk" and he loved it. He thought he looked different and wanted Greg to do it for him today too. He thought it would also help the teacher tell them apart:)

Meryn will be lost without three boys to entertain, tease, antagonize, hug, and play with her. They are all good help with her so this will be quite a change for all of us.

Playing together

Greg and the twins are out cleaning up the corn field this morning, so Trevin and Meryn have been building with lincoln logs. Meryn only destroyed it once, Trevin rebuilt it and wanted me to take a picture quick before she did again.

Camping at Clinton Lake

We had a great weekend camping. The weather was actualy not too bad until Sunday, when we had to pack up it was very hot!!! The camper was awesome to have just to have a cool place to take a break(I took lots of breaks). Greg and the boys slept in the tent. My sister Elisa her baby Ethan and daughter Avery slept in the camper with Meryn and I. Julies daughter Malia also slept with us .
We had a boat which was nice and gave us extra things to do. The boys all went out on the tube and Brendon attempted wake boarding. He is always wanting to keep up with his daddy.

Melons

Well the watermelons have arrived. The kids have been growing them for several months and now we have a bunch of melons ready to go. They sold their first 8 a couple of nights ago and came home with $21.50. So that got them really excited. We went back over today and picked about 16 more. None sold because a storm came in and we didn't have any signs up, but we'll be ready before long and won't be able to keep them supplied. We're going to look into the Farmers Market and probably sell there too. They're having a blast with it and love seeing the money come in.

The Park

Last night it was great weather so I met a friend at the park to let the kids play. Well for some reason the play area, basketball court, swing sets didn't do it for them. They started digging with just there hands and didn't stop the entire time we were there. The hole was a magnet for all the kids that showed up at the park.
