Sporting Clays

Roger, John, Johnny, Phil and I went out to a Sporting Clays range the day after Thanksgiving. I did some of this last Christmas with my Dad, brother and brother-in-law, but not the whole course. Roger was a little apprehensive in going because he hadn't shot in 15 years. So he didn't want us to "show him up". Well it became blatantly obvious that it was a huge ploy to get us all out there, with our chests puffed out and our egos high, and completely decimate us. He was relentless in his effort to show us just how terrible we were at shooting. I'm sure I saw him several times shooting from the hip and behind his back and even a diving roll behind a tree with his eyes closed using his right hand. It was very humiliating to say the least. It wouldn't have been so bad if he wouldn't have laughed and pointed in our face after every hit saying, "In your face, punk". And, "Who's your daddy!!". Well, after 50 rounds and a bruised shoulder, we were finally done. We tallied the scores,(no comment) then headed home. It really was a great time and was fun hanging out with the guys. I'm planning on doing it again at Christmas time, but I think somebodies invitation may get lost in the mail!

Dress Up

I asked Caleb to keep Meryn busy while I made dinner tonight. He did a really good job helping her pick a "cute" outfit and taking pictures of her. She is such a goof. We all had a good laugh!

Big Helper

Meryn loves to help with EVERYTHING I do. Today she kept begging to help me vacuum at my moms(getting ready for Thanksgiving). I was surprised how well she did. I think I have passed my obsessive cleaning habits on to her. Yesterday we had her three year check up and while we were waiting she cleaned the waiting room. She went around and straightened all the chairs and made sure the toys were all in order before she would play.

??????????????????????????????????????

Well this is the only picture we have taken this week. Couldn't figure out a title for this one...

Finally

This week is off to a good start! We are FINALLY attempting SERIOUS potty training. Meryn has stayed dry two days in a row. We have really slacked off with potty training her. I always heard girls were so easy to train so we were just waiting for her to do it herself :) Not this girl...She is all about doing things her own way, we haven't figured out who she takes after yet:)

Brendon and Caleb have piano lessons tonight and then basketball practice until 8:30 so Tuesdays are always kinda crazy. They have been pretty overwhelmed with basketball this season.
They are really strict about calling fouls, traveling, double dribbling, and everything else. So as soon as they get the ball they throw it lightning fast to another player so they won't get whistled at. They weren't sure they wanted to play basketball anymore. We will see. I want them to enjoy it if they are going to play.

Trevin on the other hand is loving basketball, his buddies all play and they are a very LAID BACK team. And they still have it where they stay in the same position most of the time. So not much confusion for him. He practises (Socializes) on Thursday nights.

Fall Cleanup

The boys and I and Mary, cleaned up the yard before Roger came home. You couldn't see the grass before the boys started raking. They got it all raked while I mowed the back. I was pretty impressed with their hard work. It didn't last long though. We ended up having to rake it again last night before we left to pick him up. It's far from over.

Fall Ball

Brendon, Caleb and Trevin all started Fall basketball last week. They did very well. Trevin #13, really enjoys playing is starting to understand how it all works. Brendon #1 and Caleb #2 are playing "real" basketball now. There were more fouls called and whistles blown in their first game, then in an entire season of the NBA. It was a shock to both teams and the crowd, but they started to catch on and hopefully will understand by the end of the season.

Meryn getting bootihul

I bought some hot rollers recently and decided that I would try them on Meryn and her cousins Malia and Meredith. They did so well sitting there and It turned out cute. Meryn says that she is "bootihul".
